Syntax

Saving changes to a buffer Hide the details

<Result> = WinEdSave(<Window> , <inMemory> , <Save mode>)
<Result>: Buffer
Buffer containing the result of the backup. The buffer is empty if no modification was performed.
<Window>: Window name
Name of the window or internal window to be used.
<inMemory>: Constant
inMemory: Constant used to save the modifications in memory.
<Save mode>: Integer constant
Mode for saving the modifications:
weModeDifferential
(Default value)
Save all the modification operations, including custom operations (WinEdDo). All these operations will be replayed during the reload operation (like for a log).
weModeFullSave changes for all controls and their current properties. This constant can be used on an internal window only.
weModeReposionableNoteSave only repositionable notes created by the user. This constant is equivalent to the "Export the notes" feature in the context menu of repositionable notes (AAF).

Saving changes to a file Hide the details

<Result> = WinEdSave(<Window> , <File name> , <Save mode>)
<Result>: Boolean
  • True if the modifications have been saved,
  • False if an error occurs. To get more details on the error, use ErrorInfo.
Remark: If no modification was performed, <Result> is set to False.
<Window>: Window name
Name of the window or internal window to be used.
<File name>: Character string
Name of the file in which the modifications must be saved. The extension of this file is "wdmodif".
You can also use WinEdSaveNote to save only the repositionable notes created by the user.

WD Graphic Objects Training (WINDEV): WD Graphic Objects
[ + ] This example illustrates the power of WLanguage in object oriented programming.
This example is a graphic object editor.

It is possible to:
- move, resize objects
- make selections with a lasso or a mouse
- cut/copy/paste objects
- delete/duplicate objects
- save the created documents and print them.

The main technical features presented and documented are:
- management of an object clipboard
- UNDO/REDO management
- serialization and deserialization of objects
- algorithms for managing graphic objects (proportional resizing, management of move rules, etc...)
WD Interactive Application Training (WINDEV): WD Interactive Application
[ + ] This example explains how to use the WinEdXXX functions in an interactive application.
This application is used to mange a connected house (switch the lights on, find out the temperature).

The WinEdXXX functions are used to move the controls on the house map, while proposing advanced features such as the backup of modifications, the cancelation, ...
